Apr 24, 2024
Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Announcement on Approving the Release of 406 National Standards including 'Raw Wood Inspection'" (No. 1 of 2024). Among them, the GB/T 30420.1-2024 "Terminology for Sewing Machinery Part 1: General Terms" under the jurisdiction of the National Standardization Technical Committee for Sewing Machinery (SAC/TC 152) was approved for release. This standard will replace GB/T 30420.1-2013 "Terminology for Sewing Machines Part 1: Basic Terms" and will officially take effect on October 1, 2024.

It is understood that this revision of the standard is based on the overall planning requirements for industry development, adjusting and improving the terminology names and definitions. It also adds new general terms in areas such as embroidery equipment, fabric spreading and cutting equipment, ironing and bonding equipment, material feeding equipment, and more. This further expands the scope of the standard and strengthens the consensus on general sewing machinery terminology across society. It enhances the accuracy of industry information exchange and lays an important foundation for future sewing machinery industry design, manufacturing, research, writing of related technical documents, and technical communication. This provides powerful support for the stable and long-term development of the sewing machinery industry.
